INGREDIENTS:

1 cup low fat yoghurt

1/2 banana

3-4 walnuts (or include Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, almonds and pine nuts)

1 tsp seeds (mix of flax seeds and sesame seeds)

1-2 tsp honey

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a food processor, pour yoghurt, whey powder, flax seed, sesame seeds, walnuts, honey and bananas. 
  • Blend it well till smooth and creamy.
  •  
  • Transfer into a glass and garnish with chopped walnuts before serving.

Navratan Pulao

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups long grained rice (basmati), soaked for 30 minutes
1 tbsp ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 cup sliced onions
1/2 cup green peas
1 cup potato cubes
1/2 cup chopped paneer (cottage cheese)
1/2 cup carrot cubes
1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms (khumbh)
1/2 cup roasted broken cashewnuts (kaju)
1/2 cup roasted almonds (badam)
1/4 cup raisins (kismis)
1/2 cup tomato puree
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garam masala

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Combine 1 ½ tsp of ghee and cumin seeds in a deep microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute.
  • Add onions and microwave on high for 10 minutes, while stirring once in between.
  • Add the potato, paneer and 1 ½ tsp ghee, mix well microwave on high for 5 minutes, while stirring once in between.
  • Add the peas, carrots, mushrooms, cashewnuts, almonds and raisins, cover and microwave at 70% for 5 minutes.
  • Add the rice, tomato puree, salt, garam masala and 3 1/2 cups of hot water, mix well and microwave on high for 10 minutes, while stirring once in between.
  • Again microwave at 70% for 10 minutes, while stirring once in between.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS:

1 lt milk

1/4 cup makhana (puffed lotus seeds)

2 Tbsp sugar

2 tsp chopped pistachios

2 tsp chopped almonds

1 tsp green cardamom powder (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a deep vessel, pour in the milk, break the makhanas into smaller pieces, add them to the milk and let it simmer for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours without covering, till the milk boils down and the seeds are soft.
  • Add the sugar and stir for a few minutes.
  •  
  • Add the pistachios, almonds and cardamom powder, stir well again.
  • Serve hot or cold, as you like.
